| Hapkido |
Hapkido, which means "the art of coordinated power," is a modern martial art founded by Grandmaster Yong Sool Choi. The techniques of Hapkido come from Daito Ryu Aiki-Jutsu, which Grandmaster Choi learned after being abducted and taken to Japan (and later abandoned) by a Japanese businessman at eight years of age. After his master died, he returned to Korea and founded Hapkido.
Since then, Hapkido has become one of the most poplular and respected martial arts in the world. Taekwondo schools often teach Hapkido techniques as a part of their curriculum, and it is not uncommon for Taekwondo instructors to also hold rank in Hapkido.
